I was first introduced to professional photography by music photographer Fin Costello in the early 2000's. I found myself in a Brighton photo studio witnessing goth metal band Cradle of Filth summoning spells from a goblet of dry ice . Completely mesmerized , I knew he needed to be behind the camera one day.
After moving to London aged 18 , and a few different odd jobs , I began working at the National Theatre, London, first as a stagehand and then as a lighting technician. I spent the next 7 years working alongsidethe best lighting designers and stage talent in the world. An experience that has stayed with me throughout my career so far. During this time I was always shooting - personal work, editorial assignments and record label commissions in the UK and US.
In 2010 I moved to San Francisco, CA and relocated to Los Angeles in 2014 . These cultural hubs convenient proximity to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world serve as a constant source of inspiration. I now live in LA and London.
My work explores the relationship between subject and surrounding in a cinematic and sculptural way. My images occupy a space somewhere between reality and fiction, with a hint of light-suffused nostalgia thrown in for good measure.
